On the evening of Thursday 9 March we are gathering together at City law firm RPC a host of leading litigators to discuss the future of dispute resolution.
Fifty selected student attendees will be able to ask the panel their questions. After the discussion they will be able to chat informally to the speakers – who include RPC disputes partner Simon Hart and senior associate Dan Wyatt and Hardwicke commercial barristers David Pliener and Emma Hynes – during an exclusive networking and drinks session. Apply to attend below.
The event comes with the contentious branch of the profession potentially at an inflexion point as technology presents solicitors and barristers with new opportunities to deliver their services more efficiently. Large-scale litigation generates huge amounts of documents, and as such is seen as one of the areas most ripe for change. On the agenda will be topics including:
- Artificial intelligence: separating the hype from the reality
- How data analysis can be used to predict case outcomes
- The effect of the government’s £1 billion investment in digital justice
- What online courts mean for junior lawyers
- How students should be presenting themselves as they prepare to enter this world
The session takes place at RPC’s London office at Tower Bridge House on St Katharine's Way. After the Question Time-style discussion – running from 6-7pm – there will be drinks and networking with lawyers, trainees and graduate recruitment staff until 8:30pm.
Apply to attend below by submitting a CV and two questions for the panel. Attendee details will be shared with RPC. Students of all levels are welcome, but places are limited.
