OVERVIEW Working in a highly prestigious International firm supporting the Real Estate & Development department. The role would be a Senior Case-Handler supporting a growing client. They are looking for someone with a high level of client service, diligence and cost-effectiveness. KEY DUTIES The job-holder will provide support to a single lending institution client through handling a Real Estate finance focused caseload, principally in the development finance sector. The successful candidate would need to have demonstrated solid real estate experience both in terms of handling property due diligence and in transaction handling, and an ability to take on the role subject only to training on client-specific requirements and processes. Real estate finance experience would be desirable and the candidate should be able to demonstrate a breadth of capability in real estate transaction-handling. Duties include: The client lends money to fund borrower-owned developments and to provide acquisition finance. Promoting an efficient and proficient service to an important client, the case-handler will take the lead in: - Producing a certificate-style report on title following detailed due diligence assessed against client requirements. - Finalising and processing standard form security documentation. - Generally handling each transaction in line with the client's security related requirements and timescales. - Due diligence requirement will depend on the particular transaction. However, each transaction would involve analysis of title, searches, title and related documents and liaison with the client as to its particular requirements. You would also efficiently deal with all post-completion matters. - The case-handler will engage in effective direct communication with the client and with lawyers instructed by borrowers in the course of processing and finalising each transaction efficiently. - Subject to training and with support from our construction team, certain the construction related elements of development finance would also be dealt with in line with client requirements. SKILLS REQUIRED - A qualified Legal Executive or senior paralegal with considerable experience in real estate transaction handling. - Appropriate qualifications and a minimum of 5+ year’s real estate transactional experience and a strong background in autonomous case-handling with limited day-to day supervision are essential. - Good experience in commercial transactions, and ideally an understanding of development transactions and projects would an advantage, as would experience of real estate finance transactions. - Good practical and analytical skills, and confidence in examining and reporting on title issues with reasonable levels of complexity, including leasehold properties. - Ability to efficiently manage a steady volume of transactions often with tight deadlines. - Excellent client relationship and communication skills. - Ability to build strong working relationships and demonstration working as a good team player. - Competency in MS Word and good keyboard skills is required; and good experience in the use of the internet, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint would be advantageous.
