First year open days will run 23 March, 20 April, 6 July 2016 and first year vacation scheme between 4-8 April 2016. Overview First year vacation scheme Our one and two-week spring vacation schemes are designed to give first year law students an insight into commercial law and working in a global legal practice. The schemes week will involve workshops, case studies and the opportunity to work-shadow some of our trainee solicitors. Selection is based on your application form, results of the critical thinking test and your telephone interview. First year law open days In addition to our one-week spring vacation scheme for first year law students, we also run two open days each year for first year law students. During the open days you will take part in tailored workshops and presentations to help you better understand life as a City lawyer and the day-to-day role of a trainee solicitor at Hogan Lovells.
