Key Dates Immediate start (12 month f/t contract) The Team We are seeking to recruit a team of Legal Transaction Assistants (LTAs) to support the firm during an innovative pilot project for an initial period of twelve months. Based in Newcastle, the LTAs will undertake a variety of work, primarily to support transactional teams in our other offices who are working on UK and international deals. The team will gain a real insight into the day-to-day work undertaken within a global law firm and will be expected to make a valued contribution to the work of our existing fee-earning teams. The Role Working under the day-to-day supervision of a Senior LTA, and reporting to the Team Leader, the role will include but not be limited to the following: - Reviewing a broad spectrum of documentation including commercial contracts, loan agreements, board minutes and company records according to agreed templates - Assisting in the verification of public documents - Assisting with the set-up and on-going maintenance of electronic dealrooms - Electronic document management - Assisting in the set-up of project plans, monitoring and updating plans - Attending meetings and calls and minuting / noting actions and following up - Providing additional transactional support on legal projects if required - Other duties as assigned. Skills and Experience Required - An undergraduate which is the subject of current study, and if completed, at 2:1 level or above - Experience of working in a fast paced professional environment preferred - Excellent oral and written communication skills - High levels of computer literacy and competence - High level of attention to detail and problem solver - Ability to adapt to changing work environments - Strong client focus and demonstrated commitment to outstanding service delivery - Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work either autonomously, co-operatively or with direction - Proven forward planning skills and the ability to manage own workload and prioritise workloads effectively - Commitment to continuous improvement in work processes; ability to suggest improvements and new methods where appropriate - Strong interpersonal skills - Research skills, particularly internet research - Flexible approach to working hours and tasks assigned - Excellent personal presentation, articulate and professional - Positive, committed and prepared to use initiative and learn - Ability to take responsibility - Ability to deal with people at all levels
