A range of talks will be taking place in our Lecture Theatre together with an Advocacy workshop. These will enable you to find out more about the City BPTC and how we can support you in developing your career at the Bar. You will learn more about the Pupillage Advisory Service available at The City Law School and the pupillage application system, and also be able to hear from students about the course and their experiences at The City Law School.

Staff will also be available during the evening in the Student Common Room to answer any questions you may have about the BPTC at City Law School.

The open evening will give you:

  • An overview of the BPTC programme
  • An opportunity to meet the BPTC teaching staff
  • A chance to find out more about our Pupillage Advisory Service, and how it will benefit you.

Schedule:

  • 18:00 – Registration
  • 18:10 – 18:20  Introduction to the BPTC (Professor Stuart Sime, City Law School BPTC Course Director)
  • 18:20 – 18:30  The Pupillage Advisory Service and the Pupillage Application Process (Keith Simpson, Senior Lecturer BPTC)
  • 18:30 – 19:00  Advocacy Workshop (Marcus Soanes, BPTC Course Director (part time) and Professor Stuart Sime
  • 19:00 – 19:30  Student Panel (hear the experiences of studying the BPTC from current students and ask them any questions you have)
  • 19:30 - 20:00    Opportunity to speak with BPTC lecturers/admissions staff

Refreshments will be available in the Student Common Room. Library tours will take place during the evening.
