Commercial Awareness Question Time is back, with the first session of the new 2017-18 academic year taking place this month at Norton Rose Fulbright in London.

Legal Cheek is teaming up with the firm’s market-leading fintech practice for a discussion about how blockchain is transforming the way banks, companies and governments operate – and how lawyers are helping such clients to navigate the associated regulatory hurdles and manage risk. Also on the agenda will be careers advice for students hoping to practice in this area in the future.

The event, taking place from 5:10pm (for a prompt 5:30pm start) on Thursday 21 September, will feature lawyers from across Norton Rose Fulbright’s fintech group, led by partner Victoria Birch, one of the stars of the sector. They will share their insights from the frontline of advising clients in hot areas such as cryptocurrency initial coin offerings (ICO), data privacy, the implementation of smart contracts, and the Internet of Things.

After the panel discussion there will be drinks and networking with the speakers, a collection of Norton Rose Fulbright’s trainees and members of the firm’s graduate recruitment team.

Apply to attend below. You’ll be asked to submit a CV and two questions for the panel. Please note that the details of those offered places will be shared with Norton Rose Fulbright’s graduate recruitment team.
