Commercial Awareness Question Time is coming to Bristol

With many industry leaders anticipating a coming golden age of infrastructure development in the UK, lawyers specialising in this varied and dynamic sector are preparing for a busy few years.

On the evening of Thursday 12 October, Legal Cheek is joining forces with one of the leading firms in this area, Burges Salmon, to hold an event at the firm's Bristol office for students who would like to find out more about infrastructure law.

A panel of the firm’s lawyers of varying projects specialisms and levels of seniority, led by energy and redevelopment projects partner Liz Dunn, will discuss the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead and consider what can be learned from successfully-delivered recent projects.

They will also explain how the sector works in more detail, looking at the various parties involved and what infrastructure lawyers do on a day-to-day basis. There will be plenty of advice, too, for future lawyers hoping to practice in this area. In particular, they will consider how future lawyers may be able to get ahead in new areas such as self-driving cars and the use of Internet of Things technology in construction.

After the panel discussion there will be drinks and networking with the speakers, a collection of the firm’s trainees and members of the graduate recruitment team.

Apply to attend below. You’ll be asked to submit a CV and two questions for the panel. Please note that the details of those offered places will be shared with Burges Salmon’s graduate recruitment team.
