Citizens Advice offers confidential advice online, over the phone, and in person, for free. Through our national network of charities, we give people the knowledge and the confidence they need to find their way forward – whoever they are, and whatever their problem.

The Expert Advice Team at Citizens Advice supports the local network of Citizens Advice services and our national online content team in major advice areas such as debt, benefits, housing, employment, family, immigration and consumer rights.

We are recruiting a legislative researcher/paralegal to support the Expert Advice team at Citizens Advice to deliver its Brexit project work and other functions. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a high-performing team of lawyers and subject matter experts in an organisation that helps millions of people every year.

This role is full-time (up to 36.25 hour per week but part-time is also available) for a fixed term (until 1 March 2020) based in either Leeds, London or Birmingham.

The salary is £26,960 (pro rata if part-time) plus London weighting of £3,520 (if applicable).

We particularly welcome applications from disabled and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) candidates since BAME and disabled people are currently under-represented throughout Citizens Advice. We are a member of the race equality campaign at Business in the Community, the Prince’s Responsible Business Network and are committed to improving employment opportunities for ethnic minorities across the UK. We also welcome applications from, LGB and Trans and non-binary candidates.

We have made a positive commitment to employing disabled people and guarantee to interview all disabled candidates who meet the minimum essential criteria for the role as set out in role profiles.

Find out more and apply. Download the job pack. There is a person specification on page 7 of the job pack which you’ll use to demonstrate your suitability for the role as part of the application process. Interviews will take place on Thursday 18 July 2019.
