Legal Cheek Hub is the recruitment and event site of Legal Cheek
Legal Cheek is seeking a writer/junior editor to join its growing team.
You will be responsible for writing, editing and commissioning articles for Legal Cheek’s popular careers and journal sections, as well as writing some news stories, optimising content for social media and creating original posts.
The ideal candidate would be a recent law graduate with experience of student journalism, blogging or some other type of writing and editing. You’ll need to be well-organised and have meticulous attention to detail, but also possess a creative streak, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
The role could be a route into a long-term career in journalism – previous Legal Cheek writers have subsequently moved to staff jobs at broadsheet titles including The Times and The Telegraph. Or it could be an enjoyable and stimulating way to spend a year or two before moving onto a career as a lawyer.
The role is remote-first and can be done from anywhere in the UK, but London-based team members typically are in the office two days a week. You’ll be working from 9-5:30 (37.5 hours per week), with a video meeting with the rest of the Legal Cheek team at the beginning and the end of each day, as well as regular contact with the team through Slack.
The starting salary is competitive and dependent on experience. You will be provided with a company laptop.
Applications are open until 23:59 on Monday 10 July, with virtual interviews taking place on a rolling basis. Apply by submitting a CV and cover letter.
