Legal Cheek is seeking a writer/reporter to join its growing team.

It will be your job to be on the pulse of what's important to law students and junior lawyers, using this knowledge to write news stories, interviews and features, as well as creating content for social media.

The ideal candidate would be a recent law graduate with experience of student journalism, blogging or some other type of writing. You’ll need to be well-organised and have meticulous attention to detail, but also possess a creative streak, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.

The role could be a route into a long-term career in journalism — previous Legal Cheek writers have subsequently moved to staff jobs at broadsheet titles including The Times and The Telegraph. Or it could be an enjoyable and stimulating way to spend a year or two before moving onto a career as a lawyer.

The role is remote-first and can be done from anywhere in the UK, but London-based team members typically are in the office two days a week. You’ll be working from 9-5:30 (37.5 hours per week), with a video meeting with the rest of the Legal Cheek team at the beginning and the end of each day, as well as regular contact with the team through Slack.

The starting salary is competitive.

Applications are open until 23:59 on Thursday 6 February. Apply by submitting a CV and cover letter. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a video interview.
